About the piece
This painting is inspired by a serene landscape near Ali Shah Baba Ziarat in the hilly region of FR Bannu, where a small rain-fed and spring-fed stream flows gently toward the Bannu Baran Dam. What captivated me in this place was the quiet union of rugged rock formations, still crystal-clear water, and the wild growth of Datura flowers along the stream’s edge, all transformed under the luminous calm of a moonlit night. In this work, I sought to capture not only the visible beauty of the landscape, but also its meditative and almost spiritual stillness. The towering rocky hills stand as silent witnesses to time, while the motionless water reflects the moon like a mirror, deepening the sense of calm, mystery, and contemplation. The moonlight softens the harshness of the terrain and reveals a hidden tenderness in the landscape, where wilderness and tranquility exist side by side.
