Sadaf Yasir is a visual artist and calligrapher whose practice moves between expressive portraiture and contemporary interpretations of traditional script. Working across painting and calligraphy, she builds layered compositions where emotion, identity, and gesture take center stage. Her portraits often focus on women and are shaped by a balance of control and spontaneity, where color, form, and mark-making come together to suggest inner strength and quiet intensity rather than strict realism. In her calligraphic work, she explores rhythm and structure, sometimes blending fragments of text into her compositions as a way to hint at thought, memory, and unspoken feeling. Across her practice, she is interested in how line and language can carry emotion, creating work that feels personal, expressive, and visually grounded in both tradition and contemporary language.
